The future industry represents the most direct manifestation of new productive forces. It is also the new battleground, new arena, and new driving force for advancing high-quality industrial development in the capital. In 2023, Beijing released the Implementation Plan for Promoting the Innovation and Development of Future Industries in Beijing, leveraging the city’s advantages in technology and industrial resources. It focuses on six major areas: future information, future health, future manufacturing, future energy, future materials, and future space. These areas represent the trajectory of the new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation and are the most dynamic forces driving economic growth.

To meet future space exploration needs, Beijing focuses on developing niche industries such as commercial spaceflight and satellite networks in regions including Haidian, Fengtai, Shijingshan, Daxing, and the Economic and Technological Development Zone (ETDZ).
